With gentle hearts, we share the news of Mrs. Edna Jane Brooks', of Midland City, AL, passing on Sunday, April 27, 2025, as she peacefully transitioned from her earthly home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Edna Jane Brooks was born into love and legacy as one of nine siblings to the late Authur Sr. and Carrie L. Brooks. From the beginning, she carried herself with quiet strength, grace, and purpose-a woman destined to make an impact.

Edna shared her life and love with the late Oscar Lee Wilson Sr. and together they were blessed with three children-two sons and one daughter. She was affectionately known as "Fox"-a name that reflected her impeccable style, poise, and confident presence. Whether dressed to the nines or moving to the rhythm of her favorite song. Edna was a woman who radiated elegance and joy.

Edna devoted 36 years of dedicated service to General Motors as a Product Inspector, where her attention to detail and commitment to excellence left a lasting impression. Her career was only one part of her active and meaningful life. She was a proud and passionate advocate for civil and labor rights. Her organizational affiliations included: Union Autoworkers Civil Rights Division; Past President, NAACP-Dothan Wiregrass Branch, Coalition of Black Trade Unionists; International Order of the Eastern Star (OES); Daughters of Isis (DOI). A woman of deep faith and service, she also served at Greater Baptist Baptist Church. She found joy in singing, dancing, and lifting the spirits of everyone around her.

On April, 27, 2025, Edna Jane Brooks peacefully entered eternal rest. She was welcomed home by her Lord and reunited with loved ones who preceded her in glory; her beloved son John Arthur Wilson, her parents Arthur Sr. and Carrie L. Brooks, and six siblings: Robert Brooks, Ernest Brooks, Clara Crittenden, Alice Pettaway, Benjamin Brooks, and Arthur Brooks Jr.

Edna's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Oscar Lee Wilson II (Connie), Elaine Knight (Billy); Grandchildren: Amy (Chris), Jariah, Lamoris (Denise), Madeka, Alexus (Eric), Jason, Johnathan; Great Grandchildren: Isaiah, Asher, Ailani, and Elisha; Her sibling: Willie Grace Brooks and Carrie Laine Brooks.
