Dennis Ray McDaniel was born on July 30, 1954, in Florence, Alabama, to the late Marvin Coxx and Annie Mae “Pat” McDaniel. As the eldest of three children, Dennis embraced his role in the family with strength, love, and a deep sense of responsibility. At an early age, he confessed his belief in Christ, establishing a spiritual foundation that remained with him throughout his life.

Dennis peacefully departed this life on February 27, 2026, at Big Springs Nursing Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Coxx and Annie Mae “Pat” McDaniel; his beloved sister, Mary Walker; and his brother, Dextrose McDaniel.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories two devoted sons, Bryant McDaniel and Roderick McDaniel; one loving daughter, Alithia McDaniel; one caring sister-in-law, Carolyn Jean Casey-McDaniel; a special and devoted nephew, Greg (Michelle) Johnson; a loving niece, Tangela (Daniel) Ledford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the Word of God:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”— Psalm 34:18–19 (NLT)

Dennis’s life and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
